Yes [0]. I haven't had time to fully look into the details. But from looking at the existing integration -- it would be fantastically convenient to have something cloud native [1]. [0] https://prometheus.io/docs/

My favorite recent find in iPython is “alt-9-backspace” which deletes 9 “words” back. In my case clearing a uuid string in a Django ORM query: MyModel.objects.filter(UUID=‘123e4567-e89b-12d3-a456-426655440000‘)

I've toyed around with a couple of these for use as baby cams -- mostly streaming the video feed over RTSP using VLC as the server. The video feed always works well, but I've never been able to get the audio from a usb mic to tra

But in Case B, wouldn't they have to pay the corporate income tax on that $100,000 before they buy the next property (39.1% in 2017)? I thought each property is a capital expense which gets depreciated over time. So you can't bu

Sure, and that's what I do most of the time. However, if the S3 keys are larger than ~500mb, then it's not possible to process them in any way with Lambda since there isn't enough "scratch space" available in /

Lots of great comments here. I'd like to add that being limited to 512mb of working disk space at /tmp has been a stumbling block for us. Would be really great to have this configurable along with CPU/memory. Additionally be

We've just recently started using Sanic[0] paired with Redis to great effect for a very high throughput web service. It also uses Python 3 asyncio/uvloop at its core. So far very happy with it. [0] https://github.com&

Serverless[0] does support Python (the CLI tools are just written in JS). Zappa[1] is also a great option if you want to deploy a WSGI compatible app (flask/django) to Lambda. I've used them both in production and have had a grea

Of course the home cook doesn't need a centrifuge -- but I sure do want one! Kind of like how I started cooking sous vide 5 years ago with nothing but a pot, a probe thermometer, some ziplock bags, and a ton of patience. 3 meals l

This is slightly off-topic -- but for any kitchen nerds out there, Dave Arnold of Cooking Issues (amazing podcast[0]) and Searzall fame is doing a crowdfunding campaign[1] to build an "affordable" centrifuge for the kitchen/b

I've recently deployed a small Flask based micro-service for an internal tool leveraging Zappa[0] to deploy it to Lambda/API Gateway. Overall it's been a really smooth experience. I'm looking forward to using it again. [

Does anyone know of a good resource for learning microservices best practices? We're at a stage at my company where it makes sense to consider the transition from a monolith -- but would love to do the right homework first to avoid so

Agreed. To me the pistachio that can't be opened is equivalent to the clam that doesn't open in the pot. Now you won't get sick from the pistachio, but the quality is never the same.

I'm curious if this will Convox to route to multiple services with just a single ALB instead of the historical default of 1 ELB per service. Would be a real cost savings for a micro-services architecture.
