Based on this response I have to assume you spend 100% of your time in your house and can't understand why diesel trucks would ever impact someone in another setting.

> It’d be completely sensible to be spooked by that, and conclude that Apple Wallet is tracking you. Wait, there were/are people who believe Apple Wallet doesn't track them in some way?

It isn't a surprise for many, but my impression is that distribution of VC funds to African counties is highly inequitable. The article mentions that this is the first investment in an African founder for one of the involved VCs (Peak

If it weren't tragic it would be hilarious that Trump is the worst thing the US economy has seen since COVID.

This site is unusable on my mobile android phone, even tried multiple browsers. The body text extends beyond the window and I can't scroll or zoom to fit.

I really like the idea purposed here but none of these projects are even remotely interesting to me. It's moments like this when I start to question whether or not I'm losing my love of programming.

Valid questions. For me it's two things: 1) sometimes hooks are configured on commit, and I prefer to have a very quick and lightweight commit action. If I'm changing branches sometimes I'll commit WIP changes so I can easily

There's always a spectrum of preference with these things. Personally I don't like git hooks for my workflows because I know CI will enforce the relevant checks. In addition, I am fine running an extra test or lint or build comman

Am I the only one distressed by the amount of good that could have come from $60B over 5 years if applied to a social problem, but was instead squandered on nerd fantasies?

We are using PrimeVue at my work and are very happy with it. I'm not super familiar with Mui so can't directly compare. https://primevue.org/

Very balanced response, but in my case it's less about gotchas and more about APIs. I just think other frameworks have more intuitive APIs than react. Maybe this falls in the same category as a gotcha, but I feel it's a little dif

You might be right that intellisense is to blame, but my suspicion is that some people are just worse at writing code and it isn't really about the available tools.

I also appreciate the craft of coding. My suspicion is that eventually it just won't be a thing anymore, even though such a future is not my preference. Not that humans will be completely removed from coding, but writing every line you

I only skimmed it because the thesis is so incredibly broad it's effectively impossible to prove or disprove. There's no way we could know something this significant at a population level due to the effects of tools that came out

For such a short book review I feel like they could have listed out one or two example felonies that people likely commit each day. Feels like a weird tease.

Yeah my comment was dumb. I wish I would have said: there are useful improvements we could make to CSS, but I don't think a new layout engine is the top priority.

I kinda feel like CSS is already feature complete. I know they listed things that can't easily be done currently but I'm not upset about that.

This is my thought too, I'm having trouble envisioning a case where a reasonably complex UI wouldn't still need JS. I guess it provides a roadmap to incremental adoption.
