Try coding in a language/style you are not familiar with. It is not revolutionary for areas you specialize in, but if I try using it for something like setting up a web scraper with python (something I understand conceptually but have

The tech job market is brutal right now, employers aren’t going to flex on their employees unless they can, and they totally can right now.

Yeah no problem, I think every 'how to resume' article has a similar issue. I have tried writing before and it is a huge pain so props for putting this together and getting it out there. Your style is fun and your writing is clear

Several points are things that have nothing to do with writing a resume: 'Name Recognition' - You should have worked at FAANG or large companies. 'Short stints' - You should have worked for 1.5+ years at each job. '

Yeah seriously, normally the argument is: 'it will require N engineers to run our own and they cost N * 250k/yr...' but for 65million you could fund 5 Datadog competitors and still come out ahead.

Yeah healthcare is the one thing I want financial security for. Big house, nice car, expensive food is all whatever, but I have some weird paranoia that in the next 30-40 years some longevity treatment will start rolling out or I will devel

Philosophy is boring so it doesn't really play well in political discussions. I agree though, when we argue about something like AI without any kind of philosophical underpinning the argument is hollow. AI is "good" in the se

I refuse to believe you can't tell the difference between TikTok and HN. Just take your argument all the way and say that reading a book is the same thing as using TikTok. Hard Disagree.

Chinas drug laws are way harsher than US ones. Do their citizens not partake in drug use? It is actually a pretty interesting question, did the war on drugs work in China? They have harsh drug laws but do not have mass incarceration of drug

Sorry that sucks and is doubly frustrating when you are doing everything right. Sort of the inverse of Richard Overton who would chain smoke cigars and drink Irish coffee well into his 100s.

It would be difficult to search because that is a weird question. If you asked a more practical question like "merge two arrays and remove duplicate values" you would find tons of exact results.

It isn’t a crazy hypothesis to say products will require AI to perform specific tasks repeatedly. How many products that can be improved by AI today need a generalist chatbot trained on the entire internet. Almost none, they all have a spec
