Not only that, but in IE it's a modal dialog. You can't do anything (even switch to another tab) until you've acknowledged the scary warning.

Most content sites have login systems that people use to customize their experience, post comments or upload content, etc. Millions and millions and millions of people are logged into content sites and are vulnerable to this attack. Also,

I don't understand your argument here--are you saying we shouldn't mind if the vulnerable sites aren't Facebook or Twitter?

These examples can be made to run in a completely evented style with no code changes using Eventlet. I use this for pretty much all of my projects these days: http://eventlet.net/ One of the most popular WSGI servers these days, gunicorn

Are those people the same ones who would buy into an early-stage functional programming language like F#?

Sorry, I just don't buy this. From Google, to Yahoo, to other teams in Microsoft, to small startups, to IBM, to single-person freelance developers--each one of these groups have open source projects that accept community contributions. If

Interesting that he specifically calls out their PR firm as being good. Seems that most of the advice I've seen lately goes in the other direction, eschewing a PR firm entirely in favor of more guerrilla-style marketing. I think in the end

Great article, and definitely a feel-good for people who are starting their own businesses! However, I wonder if all entrepreneurs are like he describes. In fact his description is almost at odds with what Zuckerberg said at Startup School

The official docs recommend Paste. We've had apps in production running on Paste since 2007. At the time, neither mod_wsgi or uwsgi were around. Certainly it may not be the best way to run in production, but it's not for development on

No, not at all. Well, people do use it for development, but it's pretty much the recommended deployment option for several Python web frameworks, including Pylons.

Yeah virtualenv is incredible, I use it for everything. Eventlet is comparable to Twisted, but with a slightly different ideology. You really have to try them both and decide which one fits better to your brain.

I recommend nginx in front of gunicorn. This way nginx can sit up front and do what it does best: serve static media files and buffer requests and responses. Set up gunicorn under some kind of process manager. I use daemontools, but runit

"best" is a very subjective word. If we're talking about performance, I'd venture to guess it goes something like this: C > Java > Scala/Clojure> node.js > Python > Ruby But then there's all of the other tradeoffs, like

Sorry, no. This is what Puppet and Chef do, and they do it very very well. In addition, with companies like devstructure, it has become very easy to automatically generate a Puppet/Chef manifest.

This whole notion that Reddit is one personality is ridiculous. Reddit has idiots, philanthropists, rapists, and startup founders. And those probably overlap.
