Shucks. I just bought eero over OnHub because the former seems to answer the multi- floor wireless solution than OnHub. I'm in a 4-story town home with PoE between floors, which works great, but Apple's AirPort Extreme + Express C

I think most of the commenters are missing the point of the tests. Having sat through a few meetings about "the best way to design FB ads", I've actually heard a few of these "myths" as converting best. And they mea

I totally agree with this, even down to the library/framework level (where bootstrapping is 90% the same for most users). Speaking of automation, I've found that doing automated releases in CI has significantly lowered the barrier

I've had issues with Mint and USAA, which is a shame because the only features I want are: - Frequent automated syncing. - Running balance for recent transactions. I know when payday is. I know when I'm off track or not. It's

These could've come in handy after my JavaScript Fatigue post blew up (I called it the "Abramov Effect"). Instead, I just declined to read a single response, and ignored as much Twitter noise as I could. Like many others, I p

I think this is a great idea. Having something for accountability (besides fighting one's own addiction) is helpful. I've found myself responding at stop lights, which inevitably means finishing a text after the light turns green.

In my case, I let the query happen and throw at the part the user isn't allowed to see, which causes the entire entity to show as an error.

We've been testing this out for our new work projects and it has been huge. Finally, Docker is approachable, simple to scale, simple to add SSL to, and setup continuous deployment. We tried Fleet and other tools before, but it took too

Give it time. I've gone through several growth and downsizing periods. Each time the people change and, therefore, the culture. Afterwards, everyone is kinda feeling out everyone else, both professionally and personally. The culture u

I'm 100% with you. Using Webpack and Mocha, I run `npm test:watch -- test/some/thing.js` which builds just that test's bundle and runs it with Mocha. If there's a change, the bundle is refreshed and Mocha reruns it.

It seems that the majority of the benefit was replacing a browser instance (PhantomJS launched via Karma) with a virtual-DOM (jsdom). Karma shines when you're running integration/e2e tests against _real_ browsers, especially IE.

This write-up makes me want to check out Otto again. Initially, I checked it out but found that, with Node projects, a VM feels heavy and bloated, especially with boot times and constantly recompiling. For LAMP projects, this is par for the

As a native Houstonian, this article was a fantastic read on the history that I never knew. Just last year, my family moved _back_ into the loop (walking distance to several parks) and haven't looked back. This quote perfectly sums up

It's not much more than an additional 1 or 2 decorators, & even those can be a local file specific to how you write your app. In my experience, I only add a `@dispatcher()` decorator above it, and use `@resolve` as normal. 1 line

You're correct in that Relay correctly identified the same architectural problem with having data requirements _far away_ from the components that actually need it. This is why React Resolver was created, and from what I've seen,

I'm in a similar boat, but just have a license key on the machine (committed) and use the maxmind updater to fetch our licensed db. It happens once per provision, and a cron job to keep it up to date.
