It's such a shame because Windows is a good operating system for a lot of desktop use cases that happens to be smeared with shit all over the user interface. Honestly I'm expecting them to introduce mini advertisements in the task

God I wish I lived in a country where that were the norm. And not have some crack head steal something to sell it for peanuts later.

I can't wait for a future were we could (hopefully) artificially grow meat in a lab so the meat available that didn't come from a dead animal is closer to the real thing. In an affordable and sustainable fashion at least. Maybe I&

What a shame. Inserting a floppy disk or tape into a drive is way cooler than downloading the file from dropbox.

They know most users don't have a choice and will upgrade when their current OS goes EOL or they buy a new computer. If it were for me I would have kept the Windows 7 shell and upgraded the operating system under the hood. Why change s

I have multiple consumer grade drives made in 2008-2010 that have been used a lot and have more than 7 years of recorded time of the head flying over the platters and they still work fine. Some with zero reallocated sectors and others with

Who would have thought that an operating system with crazy minimum system requirements and no meaningful improvements for the average user wouldn't be a popular choice.

I would love to see that come true in the future but sadly nowadays the best way to have a fully free system is to use older hardware and stock up in spare parts to keep it running until an alternative pops up. Or one of those workstations

I don't agree with Richard Stallman's political or social views but he was right all along when it came to being wary of software not having the user's best interests in mind.

I agree. It's not like 95% of the work to make a movie like that comes from thinking about a good story to base it on. Once you have a story like that, most of the effort is yet to come until you can see a fully produced movie on cinem

Are Roald Dahl's adult novels as good as his children's books? I absolutely loved to read his stories as a child and probably would enjoy a similar experience as an adult. Heck I should probably pick Fantastic Mister Fox or Danny

NetSurf doesn't support any of the new web standards so I would consider the current version pretty much feature complete for what it supports. I don't think the devs ever intended to continue development and turn it into a featur

How often do consumers plug power connectors into a GPU for that to be a problem? Spending a few minutes routing multiple power cables for an expansion card that once installed sits in place for years doesn't seem like a big deal to me
