Do you realize you’re attacking a straw man? Has anyone in this thread said that Agile is a panacea? I think we can agree it is not, nor is anything a panacea.

It is, but Shopify uses it as well and maintains the companion tool, tapioca. https://github.com/Shopify/tapioca Tapioca is used to generate type signatures on gems and code that creates functions at runtime. Sorbet sh

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeonse I don’t know the system at all, but it sounds like the money is intended for the landlord to invest. There is mention that a lien is created on the property.

The captions idea sounds really useful. I've used live captions during Google Meet calls and having a ~1 second visible history of live conversation is indeed really helpful for conversation flow. Having that in real life conversations

I can see the killer app being something practical, like being able to look at a recipe and watch a video for food prep while I’m doing food prep. Or being able to look at an engine bay and diagnose am issue and see parts identified as I lo

It’s worth pointing out that John Carmack resigned from Meta because, among other reasons, he felt he wasn’t heard enough on issues he was trying to flag as dumb ideas.

Yeah, I like it when it’s good. That experience happened at a company where it was full time mandatory, and with our clients’ engineers too. I had positive experiences from that, but also really frustrating ones.

Not the one or replying to, but I’ve encountered this too. Some pair programming takes the form of two people operating one computer. When I’ve done this style and I’m driving, certain people wouldn’t let me finish my thought on what I’m do

It's cool that the author is in this thread commenting too. I read the article before reading his comments in here, and "infinitely hostile" resonated with me on a personal level. I've been berated by certain friends for

I’ll add onto this, cmd-shift-p is the reason to use VS Code over neovim/vim. For every plug-in I’ve installed in vim, I used about 5% of their behavior. I’ve spent time looking through plug-in utilities and thought “oh that’s useful”

My pleasure! This plugin is hands down my favorite VSCode plugin. I worked mostly in vim before, and this plugin made me comfortable doing project work in VSCode. I'll keep an eye on this thread for a day or two and try to add more ess

I know those times you're talking about when it gets stuck. Switching to another file and back seems to solve that issue for me, and is much faster than a restart.

Day and night. I haven't touched the regular vim extension in years, but its vim compatibility and feature set depends on the extension author. This plugin starts up neovim as a backend server and sends the file and keystrokes to that.

Yes, it has. I've used it for years as well, and I think I know the bugginess you're referring to. Some time back, it required Neovim 0.5.0 or 0.5.1, and that wasn't yet in the official Neovim homebrew package. This was actua

If you have the proper jump to definition set up, vscode-neovim actually has a keybinding (that matches vim/neovim) gd (go to definition) You'll also like gh (peek definition)
