Not sure if that was meant to be a rhetorical question, but here's my opinion: "Best" posts--those which are a good source of information--have a high view-to-interaction ratio. An inflammatory post on a forum or Reddit tends to see more r

I believe the nimby stance against gambling is that it creates poverty. An opponent with such a stance might say something to the effect of "People are only keeping this in the privacy of their own homes until they run out of money. Then

He'll be happier than he would be if your site was compromised for someone else's gain. These patches are annoying but some people are doing us a favor by finding, reporting and fixing them.

These numbers are not mutually exclusive. The caption for that graph is "% of respondents who have worked with a particular language". Some high percent of developers in a web company have most likely worked with Javascript. Let's say it'

Slightly pedantic, but Keith's note says: "With increasing frequency, we hung out, drank wine, and I helped prepare him for interviews with tech startups" ...so this case doesn't seem to involve women, not directly. Your observation still

My mind went there too. I didn't mention that one because it doesn't seem to be exponential. I actually found a past entry on the xkcd what-if blog: http://what-if.xkcd.com/7/ For a given amount of ship mass, you need 20x that mass in f

My guess is that the statement "I’d be happy if 37signals is the last place I work." is very similar to: "37signals is the last place I'd want to work" ...which is quite a polar difference from the first statement.
