Those concerns are valid, but I disagree with you about college grads lacking that resilience. By your own admission you've been through some start ups. Could you handle it? What does it mean to not be able to handle it? I think this tou

It sounds like a metric that would satisfy the parent post more is some sort of consumer price index in Bitcoins? Perhaps that would be useful to have side-by-side with a Bitcoin-to-USD metric.

Do you think the recent "Inappropriate comments at Pycon 2013 called out" thread contributed to that mixed bag in a good way? I worded that carefully. I don't want to draw out sides on that thread topic, just whether it contributed to an e

I wondered the same thing. As a follow-up to wazoox's comment, I looked into the mortality rates of the areas for the studies. I couldn't find the infant mortality rates of Petrozavodsk, so I went to region (Republic of Karelia) instead: I

If you have a large application, upgrading it will not be trivial. Suppose your company spent several months developing their app on Rails 3.1.x. Rails 3.2.x comes out and some gems you're using break when you try the upgrade. Your compa

To add on to the spirit of your comment, this could be the first of many major films funded through Kickstarter. In this case, the intellectual rights are already owned by Warner Brothers. In the next film, perhaps Joss Whedon wants to cre

I think trait-looking-explore-<hobby/profession> groups will always exist. It's easier to bond with strangers when you have 2 things in common instead of 1, all else equal. I am not saying tech doesn't have gender discrimination.
