You sound like an apple customer, you get more for same price and consider this a bad thing... Pigs indeed fly. It doesn't cost them a lot more in infrastructure to provide alternate dvcs - so your point seems to be completly invalid. More

You can also consider using pyramid web framework. http://pylonsproject.org/ When it comes to databases I would advice using PostgreSQL but I guess anything will work fine, so you may stick to what you know best.

Soon pypy will be compatible with numpy and scipy. Also it is interesting what other stuff you can now do with pypy, for example pyglet runs on it - think opengl 3d and 2d games - should be fast enough for many games, you can run pyramid we

Not really, don't you think that there is cost factor involved here? Imagine you need to run lets say 5000 machines for you uber big app, instead of 12000, you save money, you save environment, and its usually easier to manage everything wh

Honestly, this is not even funny. What is wrong with those people. It's not like it's a lot of work to maintain it. Right now I'm really hoping G+ will have awesome set of API's, and gdata package gets updated to include them.

It all depends on your needs really. I think jquery is most popular toolkit, but YUI or dojo - these ship the infrastructure to build all kinds of widgets, + widgets themselves - which is NOT same jqueryui project. You get a lot more in ter

I'm looking for a solution where I can have recurring payments for my SAAS startup. I'd like to charge in USD and/or EUR, but I'm based in Poland, and so is my company. I can't use google checkout (not present here), and I want to avoid res

Yeah well... thanks to people like you bitbucket will struggle to gain bigger community. Why not start projects on bitbucket, and then if it will not work out, move to github? I DID get help from other people and commited my patches to some

You won't, why should you? apart the fact that it probably costs them money to send them back, I for example am just happy that i don't have to pay from now on. Since I have only 2 private collaborators.

How come? It's always tax payers responsibility to pay the tax to "right place". Not site's - its your responsibility to work legally to the letter of law. It's like saying it's a nightmare to export abroad, yet somehow people do that and a

Actually I DON'T understand it. If it's EU that means there shouldn't be any "law" problems when it comes to users of this country. And I'm sure your country has many brilliant minds to offer - same as any other country.

Actually, Django is just popular for python. But i consider other tools from the list to be a lot better solution. It's unfair to judge whole ecosystem just based on one framework - which is completly different to what others do.

You should learn first trusted technologies that are here for long time. Because they despite what people say they wont disappear - there just are no alternatives for them. I would suggest you start with a good RDBMS system - like Postgresq
