I dunno "every single large company" seems like an overstatement. Maybe thats the reason some of big enterprises are still on Angular and Polymer - some go for Vue. Some of them also have BSD+Patents but its less broad.

I don't think Google is doing the same - look at Polymer for example. You also have a patent grant but it expires if you try to attack possible patents related to Polymer itself - its like in Apache 2.0 which is more sane in my opinion

Imo jinja2 and Mako are the best template systems for python - both have their own strongpoints.

But this is built with React so its not really reusable outside of its ecosystem. Is there a version that would run on preact instead? Maybe QuillJS would be a better option for general purpose editor.

I like it too, Chris did an awesome job - just recently made a wrapper for Polymer with his help.

Not entirely true - you get things like shadow dom with them - which means "proper" encapsulation.

Sure, there are multiple options, one or two way bindings, virtual dom solutions etc. Pick your poison.

Yeah, I think one can create application with lets say preact + polymer, or vue.js + vue-web-components just fine. I see these solutions working together.

This is hybrid application - works on both 1.x and 2.x - they did remove some unnecessary 1.x-only calls from the application. You can find the examples in main polymer documentation - I'd expect that lots of existing elements will be
