That's why professionals don't call this "wifi contamination", we call it spectrum utilization/congestion. The problem isn't the number of wifi APs, the impact of beacons (i.e. idle APs) is, while not zero, qu

Dude, how oblivious are you. You're {man, nerd}splaining. Hard. Did you miss the "network engineer" part? Do you think our first step in debugging performance issues seen on wifi would be anything other than grabbing a cable?

Who said free market? Swisscom is 51% government. A government-ish entity is IMHO the most efficient way to do this. You can't have 2 road networks, highway systems, or railway networks. You can have, but it is pointless to, 2 water

You seem to be making arguments with significantly less of a connection to the actual scenario being discussed. And you're explaining oversubscription to 2 network engineers, one of them having presented at APRICOT and APNIC. I guess

I've been there a bunch, my colleague has lived there. We work in the telco area. My own experiences I would question, his I don't. It's oversubscription. Can I provide citations or proof? No. That's extremely hard to do

The healthcare system is actually one of the few things Switzerland isn't doing that well. It's somewhat "americanized", lots of "extra" insurances for random areas that will only accept you if you're h

I'm sorry, but your stance is completely fing ridiculous. First of all, nobody is saying you need to do the entire US in one go by one approach and one provider. Second, the US has about 30× the GDP of Switzerland. Third, have you lo

The answer is, clearly, Qt. (This isn't even a joke. Assuming you're not going Electron.) Part of the reason here is that it's their main business. They can't afford letting it languish and/or changing direction e

Unfortunately this is a social problem, requiring a social solution, not a technical one. (Which isn't to say that the solution won't involve pressing the fork button. But just pressing that button doesn't solve anything.)

"On 22 March 2019, the UK Defence Secretary announced a $1.98 billion contract to purchase five Boeing E-7 Wedgetails" Prototype price isn't really that meaningful (Also it's a 767 not a 737, that was the E-3 I think.)

A home network has neither of those, you're running a nerd network. You can set up an mDNS relay, and those devices can use other methods to register their addresses & get DNS updated (DHCPv6, DDNS, random cloud services, etc.).
