I have always been taught that antibiotic resistance came from bacterial mutation. Are you suggesting that this biofilm is contributing to this resistance as well or instead of mutation?

Without being as vague, my main concern is that a pharmaceutical company could find value in business practices that put patients, even those with terminal illnesses, at an unacceptable risk of harm that the patient may not be cognizant of.

My gut tells me that if the treatment is given for free (my original comment mentioned I was concerned if the company was charging for said treatments) then there's far less of a problem. However, there's still this incentive for

I know what you said is in jest, but did you read what you quoted? The individual in question worked at goldman sachs as an analyst/trader for maybe 3 years (AngelList), and hasn't worked there in at least two years.

Yeah there's a lot of talk about "right to try" laws doing what you have described. Personally? It had better be an airtight law accounting for the edge cases that could allow certain populations to be taken advantage of. For

On top of this, getting access to this data surely required ethical approval from multiple institutions (IRB). I am getting pictures from a few patients and I had to have a whole security audit on how the information would be stored and sec

Just some quick questions regarding the volunteer flow chart in the paper (sorry for those of you behind a subscription paywall). What do the authors mean when a patient was excluded for an abnormal MRI? Why were only 30/40 of the rema

I always got confused with how companies like Intel planned on getting past a 10nm transistor size. How does one get around the issue of electron tunneling at that threshold (or close to that threshold)? Granted, I only understand CPUs and

I believe that the usual pain killers are things like ibuprofen and acetaminophen (paracetamol for you non-US folks). Cancer pain is this deep chronic pain that we can't really reduce with those standard pain killers. It's just a

Are the majority of aws revenues from casual users that probably wouldn't care? If so, I think you're going to be proven right. If, however, major customers make up the majority of revenue, then the answer seems less clear to me.
