Fascinating, exciting times we live in. I'll upvote the link as soon as the "singularity" silliness is taken out of the title.

"good only if revolutionary" sure would make for a sparse & boring HN front page... I appreciate this tip (and upvoted it) as I hadn't thought of the idea before. Revolutionary? No. Helpful? Absolutely.

I think because of the zoom feature...at least that's what caught my eye as relatively unique.

Thanks a bunch for this, very helpful stuff. And congrats on your well-earned success! I just launched an app a couple of weeks ago and am past that first spike on your graph (we were reviewed on AppAdvice last week and on TheNextWeb yester

Wrote and launched http://app.net/emptyinbox with my wife as a spare time project over the course of a few months. It's an inbox zero assistant for Gmail on iPhone. I am my own app's biggest fan, I use it almost daily and love it to death

Just wanted to chip in that I thought the article was a great read, informative, and the author's self-deprecating sarcasm was very refreshing. Much preferred to extremely dry and technical stuff.

Thanks re: the page. Weird to see no other feedback from anyone else - maybe I just picked the wrong time to post this seeing as how most of the US are asleep. :-/

My wife and I wrote this as a side project in our spare time over the last few months. Would love your feedback both on the landing page copy as well as on the app itself.

"You should follow me on Twitter" has bugged me for months now, I didn't realize it started with Dustin Curtis as an "effective" phrase. It mainly bugged me for sounding incredibly presumptuous - as it usually does when you tell someone the

Wow. This entire thing from start to finish is like a textbook example on how NOT to handle PR crises. Let me get this straight: you're telling us the lesson you've learned is to not respond when emotional? You're posting this as a read-onl

Big no-no: At login, you just sent me my password in clear text via email. You should never, ever be able to retrieve my clear text password, even just in order to send it to me. http://codahale.com/how-to-safely-store-a-password/

Similar idea is Tastytum ( http://www.tastytum.com/ ), though not much has happened there lately. I was a "beta tester" host last year, and it worked really well and was a very fun evening. The idea works if you're brave enough to try. But

Killed my facebook account a half a year ago, so FB-required is a no-go for me. It's amazing how many new sites are requiring FB. But at least yours makes sense why you'd want to.

I thought Hanselman's tweet made the point far better than the entire article because the article very quickly became quite the stretch trying to find examples: overlooking the fact that many, many people are still using dead-tree calendars

But people DO seem to be surprised / disappointed that Apple is enforcing this draconian policy when in fact they have already been enforcing it for months as can be seen in the Kindle app and many others. And this is what I don't understan

Where are all these Apple bashers coming from? If Apple DIDN'T reject the apps using this API, Amazon and many, many devs would have the right to feel pretty angry at the injustice and inconsistency. In-app linking to extra-app purchasing o

Very inspiring stuff. A friend of mine once told himself he'd never be stumped by the same question twice and held himself to it. It's amazing what simple habits can do if you give them time.

So frustrating to see people are not learning from the past that these legalese phrases are NEVER as bad as they sound. It seems this never gets old, does it? How often has this phrasing caused issues - and then when it's clarified it turns

I'd agree it "smells" more like a bug than a feature, since there is no graphical cue that you are actually pressing a key, also, holding the key doesn't cause a popup of letter variants like the ÿ. Also - why is this HN front page material

Since Dropbox (and presumably Google) store files only once globally, mapped to the file's hash, it makes me wonder when Google (or Dropbox?) will let you search and then add anybody's (public) files to your cloud account with a single cl
