I use an S3-comptaible hoster with the rclone client which supports encryption/decryption on the fly. That is, I don't even need to trust my S3 provider. For syncing between devices, I guess `rclone sync` should do the trick.

I have the feeling (I might be wrong) that etcd, etc., would be more suited for long-lived state/data. What we need is a pretty short-lived shareable state. The data is very transient.

Except people don't only use Redis for caching or having a fast key-value database. Redis is also a very convenient way to share a state between multiple instances of our software that need to have access to the same data. Just like we

Very nice. I now use one as my wallpaper. It's pretty satisfying to know I have a uniquely generated wallpaper ;)

It's not an ideal solution, but I use SponsorBlock to get rid of in-video ads. (The ad section of your linked video has been reported and it is thus automatically skipped thanks to the add-on.)

I wonder if a paying Google Workplace account still suffers from that. Do they read people’s pro accounts emails?

> “With HTTP, you search for locations. With IPFS, you search for content.” Well, that's the difference between an URL and an URI, right? HTTP seems URL-oriented while IPFS seems URI-oriented.

My iPhone. And, any smartphone in general. I mean, if you use it correctly, it's such a great, powerful, and amazing little device! I'm so glad to have it when I am on the train.

I've never lied on my résumé, and I don't think this is something advisable. However, it may be wise to embellish reality.

Just taking a picture of anything static, and deriving a random number from the inherent noise of the photography is not enough?

I just use an alias and an automatic rule that puts newsletters/promotional stuff into a special folder (called "2ndary Inbox" in my case). Simple, free, and pretty effective.

I use MediaWiki, but any wiki engine would work. The important thing here is the "graph" you can easily implement with links between articles.

Thanks for your work! A 4-day work week seems so cool. Sometimes there are national holidays on Mondays such that the weekend is 3-day long. The weeks seem so well balanced that way. I suspect the 4-day week is actually more productive than

For fun, I'd make my own with a low-power Linux/BSD box (Atom or ARM-based). I guess performance would be totally acceptable comparing to consumer-grade routers (do we need ASIC-based routing at home anyway?)
