It's a good post but IMHO does still conflate several things. The problem with "gamma" is that it's such an overloaded term. 1st. Human vision is not linear but is more sensitive to changes in low brightness conditions w

Overall Qt is quite nice and works portably across platforms. You're right about callback hell but there's a fox for it. Personally I prefer to create a bunch of overloaded utility functions for different widgets and data types an

Yes I wanted something that is simple and integrates perfectly with my graphics stack and editor. Styling is completely separate from the logical UI functionality.

You need to look into insulin resistance and how to fix it. Key words intermittent fasting. look for Dr. Eric Berg Dr Jason Fung and Dr Benjamin Bikman on YT.

Having gone through a startup accelerator and failed a startup after 2 year struggle i can only attest to these gems of wisdom. All true what you say.

Stun is a protocol to query the network about the topology. Turn is a protocol to route through a third party when p2p fails. Both of these are part of the ICE methodologies.

That doesn't sound right. Unit testing happens very close to the unit you want to test, i.e. class or function most of the time. Most of these should be designed with testing in mind so they're actually something you can write u

Why would you say something like this? With everything else being equal Unit tests are as useful for games and game engines as they are for any other type of software. If you care about your software being correct (or let's say less in

There's some built-in testing functionality for the games but there aren't much tests for the engine itself in the source package. Oh and I spent about 3 years working with UE4. The engine is a bug fest.

At least UE4 is not well tested at all. Most of the code doesn't have any decent tests. It's all "developer writes the code and runs once on his machine and then pushes to prod" type of code.

Programming is not math. Computer science however is based on boolean and predicate logic and borrows requires mathematical thinking and methods as well. That being said I don't find the basic algorithmic analysis stuff very math heavy

Yeah I went from notepad to visual studio to emacs to sublime text2 to vscode and finally gave up all that nonsense and got back on good IDE and got Clion. Simply the utility of the code refactoring tools completely blows any text editor
