Yeah I live in the UK and was absolutely confused by the comment, Amazon UK is like 98% Chinese no-name brand garbage For example if I search for 'projector', I get the following brands: XUANPAD, MAGCCUBIC, LQWELL, VOPLLS, CLOKOWE

I feel like we domesticated dogs and selectively bred them to follow commands and do what we want. For cats it's more like the other way around, they domesticated us and still have their complete independence.

From an evolutionary point of view I still think cats are the most successful animals. They have managed to get the ultimate apex predator (humans) to feed, care and provide shelter for them, in exchange for merely existing and looking cute

Our company switched from GitHub / Jira to everything on GitLab because devops had the authority to make the switch and that's what they wanted. PMs now complain that the GitLab "issue board" is nowhere near a replacemen

More than 1TB a month. Just downloading one game from Steam can easily be more than 100GB these days. Downloading ML weights churns through gigabytes easily, as does downloading or streaming 4K movies. What's the point of having gigabi

Without studying the minified code I wouldn't assume malice just yet, this could be just an inexperienced developer trying to lazily fix some browser-specific bug, or something that accidentally made it to production like you say

These little demos of toy UIs are cute but humans can still hold the context of a whole codebase in their heads. We're not quite at the level (yet) of feeding a whole codebase to an LLM and making it add features or make changes while

The article is low quality clickbait. Civitai is just a popular place to host stable diffusion models / LORAs / textual inversions, not some kind of fake nudes marketplace. It's the huggingface of stable diffusion.

That sounds like it would take way too much processing power. Google is not like Twitch where relatively few streams are served to many millions, it's more like many millions of videos to many millions of users.

Any configuration format that cannot be auto-formatted (i.e. has significant whitespace) goes straight in the trash. 90% of my time spent with YAML is usually trying to figure out if something is indented correctly.
