Ah yes, I stand corrected. It is difficult to discuss these things sometimes as everyone has a slightly modified definition of "open-source", etc. I guess I did not see a valid reason why this project would be used as a dependency

To avoid dependencies it utilizes the filesystem for now storing raw data in CSV files but storing analytics (the information in the dashboard) as gob files. This is part of why it is simpler to deploy. Just build and run without setting up

It is true that the raw data is stored in append-only CSV files. But the dashboard data / analytics data is stored in gob binary files. Very small and efficient. The architecture is stream-based analytics instead of query-based.

Great question! This allows you to control your own data for later custom analysis if you would like. It also allows you to track custom metrics / custom data from the backend so that it cannot be spammed.
