Would you consider the Beatles' "I'm Looking Through You" to be a counterexample? Its bridge is performed twice.

Tweets contain a lot of metadata too though. In practice a tweet is really about 3K, not 140 bytes.

The problem with making the opposing red end sooner ("oncoming traffic has longer green," as the signs say) is that the opposing permissive left turns that haven't cleared by the end of the yellow are then caught in the inter

Mostly because if you're trying to do this kind of thing, you're trying to maximize activity per frontage so that there are enough people on the street to enliven it. If you have public right-of-way on both the front and back of t

It certainly would. In this case we could detect missing roads but not incorrect tagging or connectivity, since we only have the start and end points of each trip, not the route in between.

I think the more compelling reason for 80x24 is that it works out reasonably well to do the arithmetic for it by bit-shifting. 64x16 displays used to be common because that works out even better. I think the IBM PC went to 80x25 because tha

But they don't overwhelm the Android tweets everywhere, only in some places. I agree that it is too big a leap to say that phone choice always indicates wealth, but I do think there is a connection.

There are approximately 1.4 times as many iPhone tweets as Android tweets (about 1.6 million yesterday vs. about 1.1 million). It would be nice if the tweet metadata included more information about which Android model a tweet came from, but

I made the map tiles, but Tom did the UI and compositing, so I'm not sure how the layers are combined. There are more iPhone tweets than any other source, so they will tend to be the most visible if they are given equal priority.

The ` and ' characters were in fact mirrored in the original ISO 646, where they were supposed to be used to overstrike accents onto other letters. The straight apostrophe comes from the ISO 8859-1 era. There is no degree symbol because nob

Professional programmers intentionally don't read patents because the damages are more severe for willful infringement. You don't want to know what they say if there is any chance you might accidentally write the same thing.
