On Destkop there is reason to upgrade if you are using stock software and kernel (as I'm). Unity in 13.10 feels more responsive than in 13.04 was. Pretty much everything is bumped to newer versions. Even things in VirtualBox work fast

I bought upgrade to Win8 Pro for 29EUR. Not that expensive. That was shortly after Win8 was released but anyway - who wanted were able to upgrade cheap.

Looks like paranoia is over. Spread returned to reasonable amount (1$) and price is steady going up - at the moment 190$. Fun day for Bitcoin holders. And someone made a lot of money today.

Yes (3 weeks ago). However when they wrote post about new hardware it was told, that new Linodes will start to land there after a week. It would be only reasonable, that after 2 extra weeks and migration to get extra RAM, Linode would land

Backups in DO are free only for now (until June 1st). Price will be 20% of what you pay for your VPS. Plus - snapshots will be 0.02$ per GB. Plus DO bacukps does not happen every day and they are put on randomizer (based on load of backup

All my sites are now back online! ~ 40min downtime. Edit: Looks like DNS is back. However if you use CloudFlare services then you might still have problems. Like: 504 Gateway Time-out cloudflare-nginx

btw - sites are back. I hope they will not go down. Why I have switched off services? Because once i enabled them sites got slower, not faster. Sure - I doubt that most users noticed that, but for example, if i checked Pingdom or Google Cra

Even their status page is down. And sure - all my sites too. And funny part is that for most of my sites i have stopped Clouflare features and use just their DNS. Never thought that I will fail because of DNS not being available.
