I don't understand the problem. Why don't you just state your requirements upfront and they will simply decline if it's over budget? I don't think that's rude at all. I think it's basic open business communicat

What OS do you run? I'd like that, but the only thing of this sort that has potential to be as usable as a Linux system is BSD, which doesn't run on my machines. I hope SerenityOS takes off. It's looking good so far.

Problem is, people mostly don't pay for free software. Even if they know how hard it is to make it. The free software we have, we got thanks to corporate charity.

I don't think that's reasonable. People use NPM for various purposes, and professional-grade software with guarantees is only one use of many. You need to vet your packages. Always, even if you paid for it. There are package manag

2010 was a very different market compared to 2022. But of course, there is pressure. I'm confident the advantage is now in the hands of engineers, though. Today I had a job interview. The grinning face that a bunch of business people m

Nobody has to listen to Wolfram. Close his graphomaniac blog and forget about him. On the other hand, academic credit (not merit) will get you much further than money in many cases - and the lack of it (while not lacking merit) is a serio

I am in EU - Czechia. I have 5G, but unable to connect to any IPv6. :-/ I have the same network ISP for my apartment and they give me only IPv6. I hate it.

That's nice (no sarcasm intended), but - wrt. physics itself - absolutely irrelevant.

I still don't understand how come Deutsch's theory is supposedly more promising than Wolfram's.

How come? If constructor theory is promising, then Wolfram's theory should be just as promising. Both are unproven and the ideas are not extremely different.

But can I? I haven't tried recently, but when I tried to setup a dev container for Rust last year I had to do the setup by hand on a raw Ubuntu image. Anyways, cargo and rustup are cool tools, I don't want to criticize Rust. I jus

A person on L-1 should've known they will be moving home soon . This works exactly the same in EU and IMHO it's only logical - you'd be able to skip the usual "queue" otherwise.

Isn't JS much more Smalltalk-ish than Dart? I don't have much experience with Dart, but it always seemed like a very OOP language to me (and not in the "message passing" meaning).

I think you're assuming too much. They don't go deep into it because they're used to it - they do tons of live coding/science livestreams, for example. And they pay money and the wage is not bad.
