Yeah same here, I also always jokingly wondered why the CS curriculum doesn’t include history of CS, similar to history of wizardry in Harry Potter but the older I get, the more i think this would be a reasonable idea, if it would discuss w

Every time I see something like this, the onus of being professional lies solely on the employee. I just don’t care anymore. I’ve met enough “unprofessional” people that were the most productive in their team to know that unprofessional is

We are definitely spoiled on modern systems. But imo, this convenience is unreasonably costly. It is baffling to me that modern devices with ghz clock rates can hardly render guis and websites responsibly. At the moment everyone swoons over

I have an iPad with a Magic Keyboard that looks quite similar if you squint (albeit a bit bigger). But I can probably do a fraction of the things on it that the GDP will be able to do. I wonder why? Better hardware? Makes you wonder.

I‘m from Germany and even I found the vastness of everything in the US remarkable. In some regards it‘s amazing: the country itself, the national parks, the wide roads, parking space, buildings. In other regards it‘s obscene: beverage sizes

I‘m not condoning piracy (cue for exceptions like defunct license servers), I merely tried to ponder why I don’t think this change is for the benefit of the user and what its purpose is. I don’t know whether it will be as easy to pirate, bu

You can still get pirated versions of CC everywhere. Adobe didn’t act like they had the benefit of their users in mind in recent years, so there’s no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I don’t care about subscriptions in general and why should I? Netflix adds new content and my VPS is also a subscription, it just doesn’t call itself that. They have running costs and I’m not dependent on them. But there are services where
