I can't reply directly to SketchySeaBeast but you're right, there are probably alternatives. Emacs shortcuts are widely used on terminal emulators iirc. Vim is just one option for a portable, efficient way to edit text.

I can only speak for myself, but I've used vim plugins on almost every IDE I've ever used. Unlike editor shortcuts, which are often exclusive to a certain IDE, vim is transferable and that's how it has one of the best cost&#x

Vim plugins are available for most IDEs. I almost never use vim (except for the shell), but I use vim-style editing in all the IDEs I use.

What's your argument here? I don't try to be snarky, but learning a new skill is always slow in the beginning. If anything we should encourage people to learn these skills as early as possible so they can reap the benefits longer.

Arguing from authority won't help your point. My argument was not by the way that other substances are harmless, but merely that the ratio of victims/users is higher for alcohol than a lot of scheduled substances. I do believe you

The lack of 3D Touch is such an oddity, product lineup wise. Every touch device (watches, iPhones) since the SE support 3D Touch. I understand that there might be technical issues behind this decision, but I'm not sure Apple would&#x27

I probably wouldn't use coroutines as state machines, because most state machine DSLs are very easy to read. I'm curious though, if I could ditch state machines altogether if the coroutine equivalent was more readable. Most state

Fair enough, error checks should always be enforced. I think errors and exceptions are both valid concepts that solve overlapping problem areas. Java has checked exceptions, so you can statically enforce exception handling.

The error bubbling up is a good thing. It at least allows you to find missing error checks in the underlying code. Good luck trying to find an unchecked return code. It seems you mix up problems innate to exceptions (like messing with the c
