I am mostly happy with my iPhone. I disagree with the power Apple has over developers and users. I don’t have to be 100% happy with a product I buy.

I want to use the app and Apple won’t let me. How is that in my interest? Do you think you will always agree wit Apple‘s rulings? Also the Apps Apple is selling come from developers (and it’s a billion dollar market), so the idea that every

I absolutely agree with Apple's decision to pull the app. However I don't agree that you should be forced to use the App store. If Epic had the choice maybe parents wouldn't let their children play because of the lack of pare

You can be perfectly happy so long as the app you rely on is available. If Apple decides to axe it ( cough Hey cough ) you and the developer are at their mercy. It doesn't matter that you could've bought an Android to begin with

As I said these issue already exists with sideloading and private App Stores. Some of those issues are alleviated with the OS model, which simply doesn't allow to change the search engine and install keyloggers. If someone chooses to l

This article does not answer the question how Apple‘s privacy and security model would be impacted by 3rd party stores. In fact, there already have been 3rd party stores with business certificates and you can sideload without a developer su

I thought about this point as well, but I think the consideration that you’ll miss out a huge customer base with a lot of money (Apple customers) should be taken into account. I’m really talking about risky projects that need a lot of fundi

It’s not even close. Apple is forcing developers how they can reach their customer. Epic deals are made by developers with regards to how they want to reach their customers. They are both uncomfortable for some customers, but that is not th

The stagnation is also due to the fact that no developer would take a lot of cash up front to make a innovative app at the risk of Apple banning it from the store.

There are a lot of dismissive comments in this thread about “Mewing”. Not because studies disproved his theory but because no study proves it yet, which I find ignorant. It reminds me of the critics of Semelweiss that laughed about the idea

I did this some years ago. The problem nowadays is that I don’t have much time to fiddle with my phone OS. My second issue is that Google systematically designed Play services so that Google free devices are basically neutered. You’ll miss

You’re certainly not speaking for me and the many many devs that were harmed by Apple’s arbitrary application of rules. I also want so see people get wild and creative with apps. This doesn’t happen if you’re pre-censoring because you’re un

It’s a good enough analogy. Even with Amazon handling transactions two points hold up: 1) It’s none of Amazon’s business what I do with my machine after I bought it. 2) 30% for handling transactions and shipping is ludicrous.
