I can’t reply to eloff directly but you are wrong, which is why we should base law on hard numbers and not „guesses“.

How do people reconcile that Snowden, who should be lauded as a hero finds refuge at a country where Vladimir Putin is president is frankly a much more interesting question.Btw: He doesn’t need to be a martyr to be a hero.

I actually did that for my parents and in-laws and it went as you said. But there’s no alternative to Windows for a lot of professionals and gamers and that’s an issue. There’s no need for Windows to be better because they own that segment.

That’s not really the point here. The UI on command line apt is instant, regardless of the package size you always know what apt is doing at the moment. Compare that to any recent updater that just throws vague status messages at you with n

The juice is absolutely worth the squeeze. Everybody and their grandmas think Windows is a mess, yet theres no real alternative for most people, so there’s no real incentive for MS to make it better (or for a start, stop making it worse wit

Similar to how quora forces you to sign up if you click a link coming from a Google search. I just avoid these sites altogether. Unfortunately, I’m but a drop in the ocean.

It’s reasonable to assume it won’t, when you see how legacy UI was kept mostly unchanged at least since Windows XP.

If this would work we‘d all have speakers on while we sleep to learn languages, quit smoking etc. it doesn’t though so the scenario is just fearmongering.

The name lends itself for innuendos, so what? I can assure you that a person with sleazy intentions will find many ways to do that without a funnily named programming language. The name is not the problem. Also, a person's offense is n

On the other hand there’s this tendency to put down any kind of criticism as dumb, implying the person “just doesn’t get it”. No, I get it, I’m just not impressed. It’s a low-tech handheld with a gimmick. My gut feeling is that the novelty

Good point, bad framing. We should scrutinize Apple just as much. And they're doing it for much longer. At the same time Apple forbids Apps to push ad notifications (unsuccsesfully), which is even worse.
