I can’t compare with the Garmin, but the Pebble experience was subpar. I stopped wearing mine after a few weeks and gifted them to my mother after a while (she loved the pebbles but had constant issues with connectivity on Android). On the

The actual buttons on the pebble were terrible though but I do agree, it really sucks that this isn’t possible. I remember having a jailbreak tweak that allowed to use long presses on volume up/down to skip songs. Something like this c

I had several pebbles (2 b/w and the colored one) and now have an apple watch. You don’t know what you’re talking about, the tech in the apple watch is years ahead. There’s much to criticize about the apple watch but it does the import

Maybe the German version of kurzgesagt or Technikfaultier for some tech reviews , other than that I don’t really sorry. The other German youtubers I occasionally watch all speak English in their videos (Sabine hossenfelder for example).

Oh yeah, the niche channels are pretty good, but we don’t have personalities like Sam Harris, Joe Rogan etc. the closest that comes to mind is maiLab but she’s not exactly polarizing or unconventional.

At least the US has personalities like this. In Germany we have all the YT clickbait BS and very few truly brilliant minds that go against the mainstream.

I just don’t buy the argument that end customers will lose out. The Apple AppStore will still be the default and available. People that want alternatives can get them at their own peril (like responsible adults, can you imagine?). And what

I stated that the same applies to Google and other companies. These networks hold immense power over our lives and for some reason we grant it to them unquestioned because "well they built it". Also, I wasn't talking about ho

No, those two roads connect two mostly distinct group of people, since most people use either an Apple or a Google smartphone, not both, so I still think it’s a fitting analogy. And what is being argued for depends on who you ask. Some are

It's hard to reason about this, because in a way the app store situation is unprecedented. The best analogy I can come up with is a private road connecting half the people in the country: Of course you're happy that the private ro

If we didn’t have such a dire chip shortage I would be upset on principle, but I see this as a move that’s supposed to help long time customers get a hand at a Graphics card at a reasonable price. Once mining will ebb off, those customers

Apple should forbid this practice then. I have plenty of apps that I paid for that don’t work for various reasons. I don’t get to keep my purchases but Apple gets to keep their hefty 30% fee.
