The mobile phone market is already slowing down. Just like PC market did years ago. When it gets stagnant, companies will stop innovating that hard and slowly but steadily open solutions will gain quality and feature parity. If in 10 years

Wait, Mark Zuckerberg decided to use the term E2E but actually change it's real meaning to complete opposite? That's some 1984 crap right there. E2E with "Facebook being one end" essentially means normal SSL!

That is right. I think the excitement and hype around 4.0 was so much that everyone just wanted to released it. Which hurt KDE so badly. These days KDE is amazingly stable, fast and feature-full. But the reputation and brand has not recover

Not really. Take a look at this blog post written right before the 4.0 release by kdesktop's maintainer who founded Plasma: http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2008/01/talking-bluntly.html To quote: KDE 4.0.0 is our

This is quite true. But it must be noted that the code may actually be bad. Or it may be bad due to a thousand valid reasons (time pressure, business changes, etc) My personal approach is this: * Write new code must be "good" (Wha

React resolved very big problems. These pattern changes are tiny improvements. Basically they are improving the syntax a bit.

Can you elaborate a bit more about that? What does "advance" mean in this case? Right now our apps are deployed on Heroku but our Postgres is RDS. We didnt want to plan long term on Heroku. And I don't even know if that makes

Products in production environments aren't relying on Bash that much anymore. Nowhere near how they depend on SQL databases.

Interesting. Iran announced the same thing last month but then canceled it due to major backlash from people and enterprises. I wonder if the two governments were aligned.

It's not at simple as that. The patch author does the "initial" work. But then it's up to the team to learn the patch, understand it and keep maintaining it. Every line of code is baggage. If there is no demand for somet

Linux kernel has a good presence on the mobile through Android but the Linux ecosystem aka GNU/Linux does not. And it seems that Google has plans to swap Linux with Fuschia in the long term.
