To me the icons in the first are not useful and they are also distracting, I immediately only scan the text while ignoring the icons. I also immediately ignore the icons and scan the text on the latter one. I guess it's mostly from not

Are you saying it's closer? Or do you refer to using time instead of distance? Even if you live in a city, getting to a hardware store usually takes at least 15 minutes unless you really live like right next door. Usually takes longer.

This was just painful to read. >For my washing machine, they were unknown unknowns - I didn’t even expect there’d be a hole to drill, new hoses to buy, a cold water tap cap to remove, and a spigot PVC wall to drill out. No, most of this

Can't edit anymore but a better (only slightly) and clearer version is u32 length = (code <= 0x7F) + (code <= 0x07FF) + (code <= 0xFFFF); u32 limit = (code <= 0x10FFFF); u32 allowed = ((code < 0xD800) || (0xDF

I mean, isn't the trivial answer to just collapse the if else tree into just math that's evaluated always? u32 a = (code <= 0x7F); u32 b = (code <= 0x07FF); u32 c = ((code < 0xD800) || (0xDFFF < code)); u3

It's refreshing to see it said out loud today as an ideal, even if they didn't really believe it then nor today, the idea on page 24: "But what happens when everyone can put their message in front of a lot of people? When the

Fortunately a quick fix is to first go through a cryptographically secure trapdoor function that makes the initial check security time invariant, like with sha256 with a random salt, before checking exact byte matching.

You'll get a lot of hate for saying these things, but it's good you said them. People really need to face reality and that our society simply cannot sustain even limited immigration if those people end up as a negative for the sta

Wayland is still broken in so many ways it's not funny. Just recently I had to switch back to X11 because Wayland was just awful performance wise, like stuttering and constant fps drop. And this on a what 2023 high quality laptop with

My recounting informs of an issue, namely not accepting the argument (analogue illustrating the issue and argument), and then attacking the non-argument, ie the analogue instead of the argument. The reply to my post has the same issue, thou

Yeah, and I somewhat agree with you. The problem is that for tacking double standards an analogue is kind of required, and analogues are good for trying to explain to a person who doesn't understand the matter but understands or is fam
