I have a command launch that pops up when I hit the windows key and a gnome-terminal, chrome, and slack open that I can alt-tab through. These are always full screen. I think my background is purplish.

I'm not actually clear what crime was committed. Divulging trade secrets or proprietary information is not a violation of the CFAA is it? Even so, how is divulging a (presumably expired) username and password any different than a secur

I don't imagine targeting any random user is particularly efficient, but when you are dealing with multi million user databases, finding close to a thousand people who share a first or last name probably isn't hard. They don'

No. It has a sparse (and I'm being extremely generous with sparse) standard library. Almost everything you do is FFI, which if you want to type, is a PITA.

I've seen exceptions masquerading as goto in the wild in multiple python codebases (and not because I added them). `raise HttpResponse(status=401, body="unauthorized")` inside some utility method is little more than goto exit

As someone who splits his time between Python, Clojure, and Javascript (via Babel), lack of this is extremely annoying for Python since the other two languages allow it.

Found out that gnome 3 has some keybinding for dynamically changing screen resolution. I don't know which keybinding that is, but I found it during the mash the keyboard test.

I had a good backups business for adult websites going around 2008. It was nothing more than rsync over ssh with a couple duplicates and I would burn some dvds and drop them in the post once a month. Was a very good business. Probably still

I remember upgrading a bunch of this stuff in the mid to late 00s. Likely nothing that I upgraded to then modern standards using Python 2.6 and PHP 5.x has seen an update. At the time, it was actually hard to upgrade to PHP 5 or anything ot

Is this a specific feature of VW's implementation of CAN? CAN in general (at least not in 2007 when I last worked in the industry) is not secured. The only real security once you had access to the CAN bus were the separate rings (altho

As a user, how do I know that the patch I applied fixes the issue, particularly given the potential for user configuration of the software receiving patches? I need a PoC so I can verify the fix for the machines I'm responsible for.

The rationale for not releasing the PoC is that it gives legit users a chance to patch. This ignores the possibility of an attacker quickly developing an exploit as well as ignoring the scenario where bad actors already know and are exploit

There is no basis in the statement that witholding gives people more time to patch their systems. Even if these authors don't release their PoC, there isn't any way to prove it isn't already known to bad actors. Without the P

Delaying PoC doesn't preclude others from analyzing the patch and writing exploits. The only thing delaying PoC does is provide a false sense of security.

This simply isn't true. You can package .so or .dll (or anything else) with your wheel. An example of doing it with a dll or so is here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24071491/how-can-i-make-a...

Maybe you use more esoteric features. The only thing I've done in the last 18 months is patch a bug that prevented uploads from Python 2.7.4-2.7.10. We just run it under circus with chaussette and front it with an elb.
