Correct. My team has two main use cases: private packages and guaranteed access to packages we've built with. It's extremely frustrating to come into a codebase after several months or years to find it using a library that no long

IIRC, GovCloud is available for general purpose usage by private companies, it's just expensive and not as flexible.

I currently use this one: https://localshop.readthedocs.org/en/latest/installing.html It works. It's django based and you can setup s3-backed storage. It also has a docker-compose script.

Pair this with virtualenvs in separate directories (so that "rollback" is just a ssh mv and a reload for whatever supervisor process) and you get to skip the mess of building system packages. Also, are there seriously places that

This does that. There's nothing saying that individual query elements have to hit the database directly. Besides authz (which others have mentioned), you have the potential for various caching strategies as well as letting the backend

There is very little difference between arms and modern industrial chemicals. Without arms, we can still kill large populations by destroying their water supplies and crops. Even if you managed to rid the world of every weapon more advanced

I've found loading QML-based interfaces to be slow on low to mid range android phones. It feels sluggish to start the app. I wonder if the alternate (QWidgets on an OpenGLContext) is still better than random DOM hacks?

This is much closer to what I'd expect to have available after using clojure's core.async. pub/sub on top of channels feels pretty good without needing tons of extra complexity.

Meh, you can already do this with a query AST. For every request, grab the user's data permissions represented in the same query AST and then AND them together. Compile your query AST into whatever search technology (I've seen it

React literally does this out of the box. Om does it (based on react). Reagent does it (based on react). Using js/React (raw js interop) does it. There is actually nothing to do. You exec your js in a nashhorn thread. That gives you so

No it doesn't. You can literally do the same thing you did with PHP in 2007 if you want to (have a controller that outputs xml to be transformed into jquery commands if an ajax call or renders html if not ajax). You could also do somet

defmulti/defmethod is a much cleaner way of handling dispatch on the typical message buses you see in JS than anything js provides. This speeds development and lowers maintenance (the bulk of time spent in a typical business applicatio

I would imagine the risk of hitting a stationary object is lower than the risk of hitting an object moving towards you. Curious to know if this line of reasoning of taking the least risky option was a defense to driving his car into a tree.

If you don't have control over the logging (for a number of reasons) you can disguise your xf in the access logs. I'd be willing to bet that a lot of logging config files for access logs even ignore favicon.ico.

Yes. We had a query language that let us string together AND/OR/NOT filters as a tree and then the backend could decompose and query off of it. We'd have a data service per document type being queried. In our situation, custo

Adding to this answer, it looks like this will handle virtualenvs requested for dependencies as well (albeit not completely yet). This is a pretty big deal in order for almost anything non-trivial since libraries like requests quickly come
