I have used FreeBSD back in 1999 to provide hosting services for a company that I have worked. Web server, DNS, POP/SMTP, FTP and squid cache proxy .it was used also internally for DHCP and NAT routing (since we had only one public IP)

We tried that in the company I worked, project was abandoned 1 year later. Improvements and better practices were incorportated into the old codebase which is still scaling today.

Anything that supports Markdown. I use just a repository hosted on GitHub that has a history and that I can access anywhere. If you need privacy, just use git-crypt.
