Also, if you can use some other technology and then only pour 2000$ worth of your time into it, but have to spend 100$ more to host it, you're still winning. It's easy to shut something down and stop "losing" money, much

Producing art with a computer does not go against what has been previously done? You can't even recognize "genius", which this is. It directly challenges the definition of "art", which is pretty wonderful.

What I find more saddening is the trend to view any behaviour that could potentially be exploited as a vulnerability, regardless of how useful it could be, which just leads to locked-down user-hostile systems where nothing is possible with

I sell an application built around VoIP. I dislike running my own servers, so just lately I moved them to AWS. At first, I used instances that were not very performant, causing some problems. I quickly moved to more powerful instances and s

This. People (especially drunks) don't like confrontation. Just make them feel uncomfortable and they'll want to get away from you, not the other way around. Shining a flashlight on them is freaking hilarious.

I'd expect the interviewer to explain the rules beforehand, probably even show the game quickly. That way everyone starts off with the same amount of knowledge about the game and then it's all about programming.

If you go with the notion of "I don't need to prove myself, I'm good enough - look at what I've made", then this is exactly how it should be. Otherwise you're still proving yourself and providing 2 weeks of you

How does that matter in any way? This was a series of fuck-ups. Facebook wouldn't pay $1M to anyone, ever, since it would encourage this kind of behaviour. It was the "zero-dollar bug that lead to the million-dollar fuck-up"

I wouldn't do that (I'd be scared to death about what would happen, even without reading this article). But I also don't find it an unreasonable move. Just make it clear - you dump data, we're going to sue you. Right now

I'd agree, but technically speaking, the bug is not fixed if credentials don't get reissued. Someone might already have access to them. Also, you can't just expect that "oh, just delete your data pls" will work,

I agree. If there's no clear rule "all data stays in our network", dumping data is not an unreasonable move. I don't care whether some experts in their offices mull about what's alright to do in a pentest or when fi

Narrow AI, yes. If it simulates a human action and adapts to the environment to a small degree (e.g can recognize a screw bolt and pick it up even if it is in a different location every time), it's a narrow AI.

Swedbank also requires two-factor authentication. You can bypasss this by calling them - they only ask for 1 thing to authenticate you. Two-factor authentication is rather useless if you can just bypass it like that.

1200-1300 is about the rating where players stop making blunders to such a grand scale. Also, at that rating, blunders start to get punished much more heavily. Before 1200, it really is all about learning to stop blundering. At GM level tho
