Pretty cool. Got to ~2000, but the ship's size was still relatively small. It's hard to dominate in this game though (compared to Agario).

This should have been in the article. From the title, I was expecting something completely else; reading the article I thought "nothing new" and eventually I was left with "there's some dude doing something". As a d

The analytics are definitely useful. I re-read it and it does seem like Hickory automatically divides any text into flash-cards. Not sure how effective that is in reality though.

So this is just Anki[1] under an umbrella? E.g. flash cards are provided by someone higher up who can also look at the data? [1] http://ankisrs.net/

An OS which doesn't have any checkboxes at all could do this too. Do you trust an OS without any checkboxes?

Doesn't matter who they are. They have a loaded gun in their hands. Use it somewhere private or not at all. Anything else is unacceptable and extremely dangerous.

I would categorize it as efficiency. Laziness is when you have the means to do something, but you're just not willing to do it. Efficiency is when you take 2 hours today to save 10 minutes every day for the next 5 years.

By that logic we should also take into account all the other 1000s pieces of technology that can operate with text. In the end it all comes down to personal preference or the project guidelines.

I have the same model (QC20i). Ears do not get fatigued. Impressive technology to be honest, didn't think they were that effective before I used them. I do agree that it's not a solution, but probably the best way to adapt.

You said that Diffbot reads the web autonomously. Is it able to learn a language on its own? I'd be very interested in this (business-wise) if it could provide results in my mother tongue.

Couchsurfing is not that effective if 95% of the community is just looking for a free place and 5% actually hosts. You've got way too many parasites in the community. With Airbnb, that problem is solved - people who don't host hav

The order should update automatically if someone else adds something. Simple AJAX polling would suffice.

You can't deny that both games look very similar. Coincidence, maybe, but if App Cow truly has a connection to Ketchapp and if they did have a "placeholder" app that they patched over, it at least looks fishy.

There is no security issue with that. This "feature" would definitely be useful (and in a way needed), even though I use a password manager anyways.

You're reading waaay into it. We used to do stupid stuff like this all the time. Kids who never had any interest in computers (and neither do today) used to pull pranks like this. It's just what kids do. Nothing else. Never in a m

I'm pretty sure the competition winners are not one-trick ponies either. They probably can crank out a solution to the last one as well (if given enough time -- like on a job). That's probably not the problem.

Have other people look at your code? If it's easy to understand, to modify etc - it's good. Otherwise, less good.

That's not true at all. Keskerakond does hold a lot of power (in Tallinn), but you're overdramatizing it way too much. The reason why you're saying that there's "two political parties" is because Estonians'

I'd say that in very small teams (up to 6 people), it's better to not have a certain leader. Someone will become more dominant in the group anyways (usually a person whom everyone trusts and likes). In big teams, it's hard to

No ads. I live in a country with barely any ads targeted at it (only 1M people live here) - so I usually get none. It loaded up so incredibly fast that it must have been cached and stored on the server.

It must be caching the more popular torrents. Inception loaded up within 1s for me, which means there probably was no communication between the trackers and the server. Other torrents didn't even load up for me.
