My post was intended to imply that Twitter's reaction seemed out of proportion, which can sometimes imply they reacted that way because they feared it may be accurate information. Game theoretically, regardless of their intention it wa

I'm sorry but why would you expect anything different from a language you rarely use? I've picked up Python the past few years and have come to love it, but I'm sure any seasoned vet would eviscerate me in a code review.

That and the Twitter drama today have probably driven up traffic. Not sure if that's enough to test their limits, but maybe.

If efficiency is the goal, it's better to spend time optimizing your ability to use advanced text editing features. Simultaneously modifying multiple lines at once, block based editing / copy+pasting, regexes, etc. I'd imagin

Sure, but there are literally an infinite number of things to learn / discover with maths. Watching videos which show me one of those but doesn't manage to teach me ends up leaving me disappointed.

The only time I feel dumb in life is while watching his videos. Math doesn't come as easy for me as programming does and he always sounds as if it's trivial to follow along. But it isn't for me. I went so far as to unsubscrib

Basically it's not video anymore, it's motion capture applied to an avatar, where the default avatar is your original face. It seems like this could /also/ be used for video by using this technique along with residual co

I was talking about pinning workers, not fibers. Empirically, it is often better for performance to allow the OS to manage the hardware threads. Sometimes its worth pinning to a NUMA node, sometimes to a core, rarely to a cpu. Just reportin

This morning I sent a message and it was greyed out until finally sending a minute later. So it would seem both cases are possible somehow. Different stages of data propagation?

Pinning to hardware threads is most certainly not "always" better with fibers. I can say with certainty after very thorough performance testing across dozens of architectures and dozens of workloads. The difference can be dramatic

You could say the same about posts relating to anime or how to bake. The sites singular focus on hackers is what I think keeps it from devolving down the reddit path.
