True, very true. I hate when I mistakenly hit enter and it opens a blank calculator. One would assume that the calculator has an api where you can send queries to it, maybe it doesnt have one for 'open with predefined equation'

Math in spotlight on os x showed me that there is someone in the company who pays attention to how a user uses the system. Not just the math part, but the fact that you can copy the result to the pasteboard with the keyboard shortcut

You're both forgetting about Leap/Kinect/Minority Report-like functionality. https://leapmotion.com That combined with touch and keyboard is the future. These devices will soon accept any part of our body as an input vector. They'll be ab

I've been working on one for six years now. Id say that it is 70% done -- I just cant bring myself to define, map, and execute that last 30. I'm putting other ideas on hold until I finish this one, ideas that could be viable money makers, b

Yeah why not? The metaphor works/I cant think of a better one. One thing that I like about some of Apple's approach to things is that the user explicitly enters a mode or changes frame of action. There is a mode the user enters when moving

I just hope that they can keep the contrast and the explicit visual of what a component does. Case in point: fire up letterpress on the ipad, get a gamecenter popover with its felt and wood finish, you can clearly identify what is supposed

Wasnt he supposed to be the next Steve Jobs? He was noticeably missing from the last event. It was strange that they didnt have ios updates to talk about (that is when he gets on stage).

A better analogy for Windows 8 is a recently divorced older man who decides that the club scene is where he should be, so he starts dressing differently in an attempt to attract younger mates. However, he can still be dad to his teenage kid

Well, the "desktop" in RT is completely different than the desktop in x86. What I said was that Metro and Windows 8 should be separate products until the x86 desktop can be emulated as an app inside of Metro. As it stands now, your RT "desk
