I'm not sure... but... maybe in this one single instance, I'm rooting for the bots. I mean, it's burning ad dollars and causing advertisers to rethink their strategy. Who knows, maybe that will eventually lead to the realizat

Never played with OCaml, but I spent the past few days learning about F# (my understanding is that it inherits a lot from OCaml). Tooling seemed great: I used JetBrains Rider; VSCode and Visual Studio are also options. Support seemed great:

To be fair to Kagi: This was in the top three results, and I can't tell if it's "real", or just a page created to capture those exact search terms! https://akkaalternatives.com/ If the goal of that site

Lately, I've been more and more disappointed with Kagi. It seems to be falling victim to the same SEO spam. For example, today I was wondering what Scala devs use as alternative to Akka. I searched for "scala akka alternative"

Loved the article. Texted it to my family group chat. My wife told me she had to close it immediately because the ads were so bad. I checked it in a browser without an ad blocker. TWO overlay (one after the other) that covered the entire co

I think this gets at a deeper point I'm trying to make. If you truly can consistently beat the market, you are already making a killing with your _own_ money. If you want to use _my_ money to place your bets (presumably b/c you wa

I don't think the risk is "absurd". Or, at least it's no different than the risk they ask any investor to take by charging them 1% of their portfolio for it to be "actively managed". Plus, they are being compen

To any fund manager out there that truly believes you can beat the market, here is how you can sell me your fund: We agree on an index and a time frame. You guarantee me the same return as the index within that time frame. If you beat the i

Why doesn't this git repo contain any actual source code? Nor do the "src" archives on the download page (both contain a single, empty file). Yes, I realize I can unzip the xpi and see JS source. But... just curious.

Infuriating. I was pissed because I couldn't easily watch "all games in a given league". You only want to watch your team, and you STILL have to pay for four services to get "most" of the games.
