I am not a cryptographer. At a quick inspection this kind of thing would result in pretty bad encryption. A hash of each word (unless salted with a different salt each time, defeating the purpose) is easily broken, even if the hash is a cry

"California is prepared to... pay... an estimated $25,000 each." What a joke. Compensation for state forced sterilization should be orders of magnitude greater than that. edit: P.s. How have these cases not gone to the supreme cou

Written some 60 years ago, Information Theory and Coding by Abramson[1] is an absolute gem for those looking to get into info theory. The cover book [2] being the more complete resource (and somewhat of a grad level defacto standard text).

This ~250 word "article" hardly counts as news, let alone to hn audience. How is this on the fp? Edit: mea culpa. I was looking at the paywalled version.

I don't think the other reply answered the question. Google trends show 10x as many queries from the UK than US for "schtum". So I would guess your intuition is correct.

I was about to post with "how is this different from the various other vhdl / verilog risc v implementations", but saw the incredibly detailed datasheet. That alone is very impressive.

Imho, D's choice to be garbage collected has prevented wider adoption (that's the case for my usage at least). And as a compiled gc language, it competes squarely with golang, something that's likely hard to do, given the cor

This level of incompetence is exactly what I expect from the college board. They have no incentive to improve. They are a government funded "non profit" monopoly.
