I've heard this rationalization before but it falls down on closer examination. If propensity for outrage at "controversial figures" is asymmetrical, then factions that exaggerate outrage get to control the conversation.

I don't know about all-cause mortality, but this recent review says vitamin D supplementation definitely helps with respiratory infections, which is more germane at the moment. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2

People would publish flashcard sets (share part of their notes tree) and others could fork and modify those sets, like GitHub. This is in my plans if I ever have enough time to compete in this space.

Feels like more and more there's a ton of smart people converging on ideas. I wrote a flashcard web app with WF as the filesystem. Right now it's very powerful as a personal use system, and I've considered making it public.

Reminds me of the Sacco and Vanzetti case, which I learned as a kid was an unambiguous miscarriage of justice and xenophobia. It's perhaps not well known, but there's pretty good reason to think they were guilty all along: https:

It's weird because I'm just as afraid of a black swan of unforeseen, runaway financial collapse due to pandemic countermeasures. People seem awfully glib about how many will die from the pursuant depression.

Man, it sure is hard to make decisions in this world, isn't it? I've helped several friends and family fix their chronic back pain through deadlifts and similar. Chiropractors didn't help. They didn't believe in or could

Indeed. My wife broke her back in college before we met. Since then she'd had chronic back pain and she figured that's just what she'd have to live with. What fixed it for her was hip thrusters, which are targeted toward the

One way would be to read a lot of the type of writing you want to emulate. But you'll get the best results by putting a lot of directed and specific practice into it. Ben Franklin wrote about his method in his autobiography. He would t

You can re-style arbitrary (or well-designed) HTML in lots of different and cool ways with CSS. But you can't re-style it to the new particular design that management wants. And even if I'm wrong, the last decade has proven that y

My wife's family lives in a slum in Caloocan City in the Philippines. When we stayed with them for a visit, it was amazing that I could just pull up my Uber app and get a ride to BGC, which took 1 1/2 hours. There is no other way
