Yeah for sure, I think it's mainly a lack of structure which has also been solved in various forms, none of which necessarily prevail.

Thank god for jQuery for this exact reason. It's been a refreshing constant in the exhausting mess that is the JS framework world, and the fact is that most software is "monolithic."

I strongly believe that jQuery by itself is almost always easier to use than any JS framework or combo of libraries. The fact that these frameworks often are incompatible or at least look down upon jQuery is odd and dare I say disrespectful

This is why I don't have comments on my own blog. I love discussion and appreciate it where it belongs, like hacker news and reddit, but if I'm writing it is my own outlet and I really don't want other people to see what othe

True, but I think a major point is that it can be much more difficult for people to live happily and peacefully when they have less money. It's easy for us to say money is nothing vs time, but less easy for the single mom working at wa

How did you make that much? How often did you have to source contacts and how many did you take at a time, and for how long? I'm trying to do similar and am absorbing any input I can about this.

It works great. I use the same setup, and was big into spacemacs and even contributed to it but ended up right back at iterm + tmux + vim again. Vim is faster, and suits my needs better.

I use Ruby often, not sure if I quite "get it" either, and maybe I don't really understand what you're saying but I think using rbenv is easier than writing a three line shell script to build aliases or symlinks. ```rben

Rbenv is much smaller and only does ruby version changes and installations with the ruby install add on. rvm is bigger and has more features but is a bigger pain to use in my experience.

I bought the book a while back, and I still struggled with it. I have very low math skills. My pre algebra teacher was a joke, and everything building on that flew right over my head. I basically talked my counselor into letting me graduate

If he's smart he'll sell the company within the next 2 years and retire pretty nice on the exit. If that doesn't happen, I'd be shocked if they make it another 5 before total collapse.

I work for Overstock. Take a look at the company's stock trends over the last year to see the affect this has on them.

The people doing this are too busy chilling on the beaches of the world with their moderately huge income to write much about it. But I highly recommend anything DHH says (as mentioned before) and also the 4 hour workweek book.

This reminds me a lot of the idea strategies that James Altucher promotes and uses. They are mostly related to business ideas rather than OSS, but the concept remains similar. You can see some of his posts on it here: http://www.
