I'm amazed at how many people use Soylent. IMO its a very poor meal replacement. Their key ingredient is Maltodextrin which is a heavily processed sugar that is often marketed as a healthy complex carbohydrate. You may as well be poun

My contract job ended abruptly recently and I'm now in this very situation. I put $10k away for an emergency fund to carry me through until my next gig. No children (someday!), no mortage/debt, no obligations. It's great! Whi

I once made the mistake of sending a joke reply to a spammer from my legitimate email. Turned out they pulled my phone number from the WHOIS info on my domain which I can only assume they sold to some marketing companies as I received about

Very well put. As a contractor, there have been some jobs I've worked that have sucked the absolute life out of me. They've made me question whether it was a good choice to follow my passion of programming into a career. However,

I much prefer to serve Go applications through an NGINX reverse proxy. It deals with a lot of stuff for you (static assets, SSL, logging, etc.) and lets you focus on developing your application rather than re-inventing the wheel. Would be a

My Yamaha R6 ($12k CAD brand new) was backed into by a car and the damage was mostly cosmetic but the parts and labour to fix it all still ended up at $9k. The problem is that paying for parts and parts replacement piece by piece is signifi

I can't imagine wheels/tires, brakes, and suspension disappearing from future cars. That type of maintenance is something that can save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in repair if you learn to do it yourself.

I've wanted a Tesla for a while, but being someone who repairs and maintains their own car, I can't see myself ever buying one as they seem heavily opposed to allowing anyone but themselves to work on their cars.

It wasn't just about earnings. $55 million was for economic injuries and $60 million for emotional distress.

My guess is that most laymen compare it to the highly successful Mars rover (Curiousity and Opportunity) missions which have lasted for years and still continue to be operational.

People like to shit on PHP as it is a popular entry point for new web developers. But I've seen just as awful code in other languages throughout my career so far. I wish people would drop this elitist attitude towards PHP.
