I mean I would even consider fizzbuzz a riddle. It’s one of the simplest programming tasks I have ever been asked in a technical assessment. Do you have a preferred alternative?

I think you are misrepresenting in the other direction (ie posting salaries that are unrepresentative in the low direction). Just out of a job hunt and had two offers in Atlanta, one in person with a TC of $180k and one fully remote with a

I was enthralled by this. I took away a great parable about developing a plan from first principles rather than convention, dedicated himself to the grind, and came out with shocking results

According to his calendar he blocks off an hour to do so- that's 10 min/mile pace. That's not crazy fast but I can't imagine doing anything productive with a keyboard at that pace. Even if it's not literally an hour

I would agree with you in general about a gap year before college- but mostly from the perspective of it's a great time in life to be responsibility-free and do something meaningful I think everyone is immature/makes poor decision

> It doesn't do much better of a job than a rake would That's disingenuous. Raking the yard is a half-day chore for me, that's fairly physically strenuous. Using a leafblower takes like an hour and is really easy- you can

I recently started watching road cycling with this years Tour de France and now the Olympics and it's pretty interesting. A lot of tactical depth and it's a perfect WFH background noise- it plays out over hours so you don't h

I'd recommend looking for "glow golf" near you. It's disc golf, but at night. Interesting solutions from glow in the dark tape, to the buzzers, and a pretty unique experience

Yup- no longer playing (moved to an area where there is no scene/courses), but I was a casual player for a few years. The cost inspires a lot of generosity. When I started I probably was tossed 10-20 discs over the first few months, pr

Man, Contact is excellent. It gives me a bit of a "Seinfeld" effect where in the modern day it feels like it leans heavily on tropes but the movie itself is likely one of the founders of those tropes, if that makes sense
