It’s not about their physical products but their services business. I think the upcoming sales in September are going to confirm your point nonetheless

Wow thanks for this! Right now it’s rate limited, could we pass you the metadata directly maybe? To not burn your ip with their servers

I think they give stability to the world market and therefore their own exports. With low domestic demand they wouldn’t survive high gas prices.

It’s crazy how much trust there was prior 9/11. I’m wondering if it’s the same nowadays if you get to a certain position or if everything is perfectly compartmentalised

I heard about this but could you elaborate? From the outside it seems like a nice idea to cut costs

Really nice read! I would have loved to know more about how the business ended. It could have flown naturally with the rest of the story. Same for D’s journey! Even if most comments felt like there was envy at Felix’s life I think that’s be

The same argument can be made about snowflakes and other providers that handle the data layer. If they can leverage AI in a safe contained environment they would become the clear winner

“Companies are responding to the incentives that politicians are providing” it misses the full picture, those same politicians are being lobbied by these companies. If a 10M lobbying budget gives 100M less taxes it gives x10 ROI and therefo

I'd say by checking the code myself but at the end of the day it's just about trust. Codeberg is facing the same issue, it's all about human reports and common sense, but there aren't bulletproof solution to this problem

It’s even worse, because they would have to say: “the bomb dropped itself because we forgot a screw in the airplane, but see how effective it is!”

That’s crazy that such errors in isolating the models became a marketing stunt. I’m afraid of what it will be next. They will remove guardrails just to provoke more and more headlines

Probably they are getting eaten by new AI integrations and the numbers don’t look good. It’s strange, I thought they were in pole position to integrate into vibe coded apps with bolt and co. Maybe be a strategy issue?

I wonder if at some point mathematicians will be over-flooded with proofs to check and eventually some over confident false claim will make it into math. Maybe in the future the work of Mathematicians will be like the ones of SWEs with AI,
