Each TigerSHARC-like DSP core has 32 kByte embedded memory, and memory-like access to other core's memory space. The system has GBit Ethernet, runs Linux and takes only 2-3 W power. This is ideal cluster material.

It runs MPI and has a GBit Ethernet interface. They've already bult an 8-node demo cluster. The Zynq 7020 arguably has enough spare capacity and I/O ports to implement a 3d torus with ~GByte/s throughput for each link.

I also carry around 200+ tabs, and 100+ of these I use periodically. Every now and then I cycle through these, and eliminate chaff, and add new ones, so the total number remains about constant. I've also switched back from Chrome to Firefox

This is a cryonics-related (but not only that) blog by Mike Darwin. In order to make the content (which I consider great) more accessible, here are some direct deep links into the blog: http://chronopause.com/index.php/page/5/ http://chr

As long as human anatomy and sensorics remains the same, there will be constants in usability. I am very, very picky with my rodents and keyboards as well as screens.

Presumably, they could halve the costs buy racking a bunch of SuperMicro boxes. Renting an empty rack is about 200 EUR/month, and you can fill it with back to back mounted Atoms with SSDs for less than 40 kUSD. 160 cores and 320 GByte RAM w

It's a question of price and low power. I'm currently running two mini-ITX C3 systems in parallel, which don't have ECC either. I'm hoping most of the traffic will just remain on the Intel NIC (I'm running a transparent bridge), which is se
