The funny thing is...some of this tech really exists. I have voice to voice translation out of my Android phone, and Samsung sells a phone with a projector. And http://apps.absolutelyandroid.com/harmonica-iphone-1537/app Some things, like

One thing I also forgot was the way software on Macs handles choice buttons. On a Windows box it's usually, "OK" and "Cancel" or some such preceded by a question. "Do you want to do actions XYZ?" This can sometimes be confusing. In OSX land

I've actually never seen an ad, and I have a pretty complete profile online. I didn't even know they put ads on the user pages until a few weeks ago when I saw them on somebody else's.

enter to rename is just a lot faster for me than f2, bigger clearer button makes it much faster. from a usability standpoint, i'd rather rename easily than open easily. I agree that f2, as an interface key, is less convenient that enter.

This is really a great piece of analysis. I don't have anything to add at all. Basically, becoming a platform is where both companies need to go, and start monetizing that platform. But unfortunately for Google, they are much further away f

Jobs' money is closer to real money than some arbitrary (and frankly unbelievable in the realm of fantasy) valuation metric. Steve could (in theory) cash out tomorrow and those 5.5million shares would be worth more or less their face value.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The iPad is about as powerful as the desktops of the day were when NKS was written. It wouldn't take a whole heck of a lot to have interactive simulations embedded in the pages instead of diagrams.
