So this depends on your definition of "working for": Are you working for the CEO or for the owner of the company?

I haven't watched the video and was very happy to have a summary. What makes you question it was written by an AI?

That also rubbed me the wrong way. So much marketing text and then a single paragraph about service terminations and price changes.

Recently I was browsing through old threads where users showed off their personal websites and blogs. I wanted to find some inspiration for my own website. What I found instead were about 3/4 dead links – even though the threads were a

For me it's Lemmy. Much smaller userbase and it will probably never grow _big_ (because federation is too daunting for some), but for me that's a plus. It's a bit like HN: sometimes it's good to _not_ become mainstream (

Where do you find the "X comments" links that are JS-only? Just visiting the home page of lemmy.ml, all comment links are actual links that can be opened in a new tab or copy-pasted (e.g. https://lemmy.ml/post/

I was skimming though the pages of this issue from 1986 and thought how those prices for hardware seem fairly reasonable. But looking it up, the inflation since 1986 was ~176%, so 1 USD back then equals about 2.76 today.

This submission is about an update that was posted just two hours ago. It contains some new information and is from another Reddit user (but also an app dev).

I just wish one of the countless Reddit alternatives in the past ten years had gained any significant amount of traction (outside of very niche groups or groups far on the political fringe).

I'm not sure what this would achieve? I mean, surely it wasn't some random developer who came up with this idea and implemented it. This is a management decision and management decisions are driven by the company culture.

Always felt the Deluge is a more 'hacker-type' groovebox, i.e. not as shiny and beginner-friendly as most other products – but with sheer endless capabilities. For examole the number and length of tracks being only limited by RAM

Would love to know how they resolved the problem on a technical level. After all, the apps running in the background would still try to download updates every five minutes and disabling/blocking those update requests on the server mig

I think it's good marketing, even though it probably won't make me personally buy their products anytime soon. But having a platform to respond to (preselected) criticism in a humorous way seems to be a good fit for the target aud

For those who didn't watch the full video: the 100,000 USD are an intentionally high price because the creator does not want to sell that specific glass block ("priced not to sell").
