Honestly, you should feel guilty. Recycling is easy; so is looking for a garbage can. Our resources are limited. No use squandering them because "yolo".

Google Photos is great. 100GB of uncompressed data will cost you $2/mo. Supports RAW files and has some nice search features. Killer feature: the ability to search images by face, metadata, and KEYWORDS. I can search for "dog"

If drone delivery becomes an actual thing, roof access for package pickup will be offered as an amenity. Services like Fresh Direct have prompted doorman buildings in NYC to start offering cold storage rooms to keep produce fresh until pick

Yeah, this. UPS/FedEx/USPS just leave packages in the lobby of non-doorman buildings. People tend to respect other people's packages and security cameras help enforce honesty. In years of living in Manhattan I've only ha

This is true. You don't need a dedicated box (at least for the simple configurations that I've run). A home user would be fine installing the controller software on their laptop and only launching it when changing config settings.

Keybase is great for managing my keys, but I haven't found any services that make it easy to natively use them. They've sat unused for the ~2 years I've had a Keybase account. That said, I have about 25 invitations. Anyone wa

Take a look at Authy as a drop-in replacement for your Google Authenticator app. Codes are encrypted and stored on Authy's servers -- they can be re-synced to your phone after a wipe. There's also a Chrome plugin that syncs with t

Aside from download.com and weather.com, I can't think of too many generic domain names that have picked up any traction. They actually come off as sketchy to me and many seem to be held by speculators looking to sell. I don't see

Went through this with Dropbox when I lost space provided under a time-boxed promotion. I could keep data that was already in my Dropbox, but I couldn't add anything more until I dipped below the new limit.

This may be a stretch, but this vulnerability could be used to kill a child or pet left in a car on a mild to hot day. Turn on heat, crank to 100+.
