If the stylus is good enough I can see people who use Photoshop or AutoCAD replacing their laptop/desktop with a tablet. I just don't see how a tablet would be an improvement for working with something like a spreadsheet.

Here in Canada most people don't know how copyright law works because they just don't care. Even the RCMP (federal police) has said that they'll only go after people who make a living selling bootleg DVDs/CDs.

It works for things like clothes or vegetables. If you want people to pay more for electronics it would be better to have a "made in Japan" tag. Or make it in China and put a big Sony logo on it.

Yeah, Google's reverse image search is unusable with Opera... unless you change the user agent string and tell Google you're using Firefox. Then they whine about how Facebook and Apple are trying to destroy the open web.

I remember having ugly fonts on Linux... somewhere around 1998. It sounds like IntelliJ has garbage Linux support and you're blaming the OS for it.

But will JavaScript be able to scale? It has come a long way from the days of onMouseOver but it seems like it's going to be hard unless it gets turned into a different language (i.e. Dart).

Wayland lacks feature X is not a valid criticism against Wayland. Because that does not mean that a system using Wayland lacks feature X. And the primary feature of Wayland is that it implements as few features as possible. 1st Bob: What

On Linux you can mix compilers as long as they implement the Itanium ABI. At least I haven't had to recompile anything after upgrading GCC.

If it were so easy to switch, why wouldn't developers target all the platforms? It isn't market suicide, but it's not as easy as recompiling the code either.
