I’ve been using Task on multiple projects for a couple of months now. Initially I whated to be able to easily create some deployment config files using it’s templating features. Worked great. Now I just default to task instead of make on ne

We have an API product and thought about this a lot. The 7 day trial does not work great as the users require to learn about the API / test calls etc. Currently thinking about having a 7 day trial that starts ticking after say 10 succe

The `createCipher` API derives an IV from the passphrase so basically it uses a static IV for each passphrase. If you used it and need to switch to the new API but be able to decrypt old stuff, here's some code to get the IV that the d

Isn’t there a partitioning issue on the GSI here? I mean, all customers have something like pk=customer1 sk=customer so all customers are in the same partition of the GSI. I know it’s a big deal To distribute the table partition key but doe

PUBG makes a lot of money still so no harm done. And the game concept is kind of different. I don’t enjoy Fortnite but spent many hours on PUBG. I’d say let them steal, that’s how new genres are born.

I've been using Koa for a couple of years now. It is a lot better than express in terms of middleware layout and the API.

It could work then. We had the same setup. Also, we store everything on S3 but there is a lambda function that pushes new objects to Google Cloud storage too. We figured, storage is cheap so we can duplicate things and it will make moving t

This might be an unpopular opinion but, Going multi region on AWS should be safe enough. If a multi region, multi service meltdown happens on AWS, it will feel like most of the internet has gone down to a lot of users. Being such a catastro

Take a look at the node js library ‘base-x’ https://github.com/cryptocoinjs/base-x Which can do base58 and any base you throw at it using the same algorithm.

I’d say the useState hook should receive a name parameter first and not depend on the call order. That way one can do branching, loops etc. This way it feels like too much magic.

I get that it needs replacing but owning several ICE cars, I can’t remember having a break fluid change on the very first periodic maintenance of the vehicle. BWT, you use breaks a lot less on an EV, does that have an effect on degredation

My dealer changed the brake fluid on my BMW i3 at 15.000km routine maintenance. I have no idea why it would be necessary. Guess that was the only fluid they could change. Got myself an invoice comparable to ICE oil change. Life finds a way.
