Tail call optimization primarily optimizes memory, not time. It will reduce time costs, too(assuming calls are more expensive than jumps, which would probably be true in any architecture), but the memory used is the main issue.

I think it's somewhat dishonest about the uniqueness of visitor's fingerprints. I've tried it three times and been told I was unique each time. However, the last two times consisted of me visiting the site and, without doing anything else a

I'm a little disappointed that the article suggests that the IO monad makes Haskell impure. While it is certainly true that unsafePerformIO violates purity(and type safety, as well), without it, IO is perfectly pure. It's just that if an IO

Efene appears to be purely(or almost so) an alternative syntax for Erlang, and includes an Efene-to-readable-Erlang translator. Some people have internalized the syntax of Erlang, and there are certainly aspects of its syntax that I prefer

Regarding your chess example, I disagree. Having a "piece moveTo: aPosition" method is much less clean than having a "piece moves" message and a "board moveFrom: somePosition to: anotherPosition" message. Pawn captures would be handled simi
