I've bought several timers on Amazon while experimenting with this, and this one was by far the best: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JRAKSG/ref=wms_ohs_prod... * silent, no distracting ticking * alarm starts quiet, gets louder * no

I'm working on changing the way people approach personal development, from the usual current approach of digesting a huge chunk of information via book/tapes/DVDs/etc to helping people make little tiny changes that add up over time to big c

While I agree that stating he's been rejected for 2 years isn't the best opener, many commenters are missing the point. He may not have impressed you specifically, but the fact that this is polarizing is an indicator that it'll probably

Areas like this (essentially, a complex combination of psychology combined with differing motivations along with a little information disparity for good measure) could be an interesting opening for a startup. If you could get over the admit

Take a moment, and look around you. All the elements that are combined to make you and everything you see was once inside a star. A star! *Hydrogen, helium and a bit of lithium aside.

This essay reads like something from another time. I stopped reading after this: "Most of the blacks I taught simply had no interest in academic subjects. I taught history, and students would often say they didn’t want to do an assignment o

I flagged it too. Aside: I don't know why LinkedIn being down would make the front page. (Amazon web services I could understand as people build on it, but I don't understand this.)

You were most likely downvoted because people don't want threads filling up with a bunch of "congrats!" type comments, which are admittedly friendly but don't really add anything to the conversation. Even though one or two might not seem li

I don't think his intention is to find and match perfect market prices, he's just throwing this out there to see what happens. Note also that given his skill set, if one was marketing to a technical audience, $12/hour might be cheap...

I don't know if Dropbox has a limit on file size, but whether or not they can do that, it's not their positioning. They're all about "sharing files", but to say "we let you share big files!" would be too narrow, and turn off or confuse mo

A gentle request; I think it'd be better to call it DemoDay or something other than abbreviating it to DDay. (I know you mean no disrespect, it's an easy shorthand...)

For things that occur so rarely, you can't extrapolate based on your experience. By your logic, we shouldn't get vaccinated because "my 4 cousins didn't, and they lived."

Can you say a bit more about "lawyering up"? I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean specifically to call a lawyer, or imply that you have one... etc. Thanks.

I don't know what the GP meant by it, but "everything happens for a reason" can be of comfort when people are going through hard times. Connecting to purpose of some kind can help people find strength. It might not resonate for you, but it

I agree that the community could be gentler with WakeMate, but my guess is the frustration comes because the pattern isn't changing. This community seems very forgiving of mistakes, but also expects you to learn from 'em.
